Heating System Installation
Having a replacement heating system installed in your home is a big undertaking. While the main work is typically done by professional heating technicians, the hardest part for you may very well be making sure that you've picked out the right system for your home and the right contractor to handle the installation. This is often easier said than done, due to the number of factors you'll need to take into account when you're making your selection.
If you feel like you don't even know where to begin this process, give Apple Heating & Cooling a call today. Our heating experts will walk you through the selection process and help you pick out a system that's appropriate for the dimensions of your house and the specific heating needs of your family.
It starts with a needs assessment
A new heating system is a big investment so it is worth your time to do it right. A heating system lasts for 15 to 20 years – you wouldn't want to live with a bad decision or pay to do it over.
Most heating systems are over-sized. That means the furnace is much bigger than needed in even the coldest weather. Over-sizing wastes fuel, leads to equipment breakdowns and uncomfortable homeowners. Over sized systems don't last as long either, requiring replacement before an expected service life has been met.
At Apple Heating & Cooling, our professional Comfort Consultants will meet with you to learn about your needs and the particulars of your home. We will perform a heat loss/heat gain calculation to determine the correct size heating system for your home. And we guarantee it in writing. Our Comfort Consultant will look at your existing system including duct sizes, electric power, and what is needed for a safe venting system. Only after we have designed a custom solution for you can we help you select the best option.
The Contractor – Your most important choice
Many homeowners focus entirely on the brand of the heating system or seek out the lowest installed cost. The truth is there are many brands of heating equipment that are high in quality, have great warranties and are available with comfort enhancing features.
But in all cases the contractor you select has the responsibility to design and install a complete system that includes many important items in addition to the furnace or boiler you select. Your contractor needs to calculate the correct size unit for your home. Your contractor also needs to incorporate ductwork, piping, venting, wiring, controls, draining and filtration.
When a homeowner ends up dissatisfied with a heating system installation, it is almost never the brand of equipment installed, rather it is due to the equipment not being installed correctly. It is better to have the least expensive equipment installed correctly than the most expensive equipment installed wrong.
Today's heating systems are designed for reliability, comfort and energy savings. For you to realize all the benefits of these systems they must be installed correctly. Apple Heating & Cooling has the experience and commitment to excellence required for you to get a great system. And we guarantee in writing that you will be 100% satisfied or your money back.
Electric Furnaces
Most electric furnaces are installed with a heat pump to keep operating costs down. An electric furnace is a good option to consider when you're looking at new heating systems for your home. These furnaces run extremely quietly and since they don't use gas for fuel, there's a reduced risk of fire associated with them. Electric furnaces are also a bit cheaper to maintain, as they don't require tune-ups as often as some other similar products. However, you will still have to keep to a regular schedule of professional maintenance if you want to make sure your furnace continues to work well for many years to come.
Gas Furnaces
Despite some of the attractive features of electric furnaces, gas furnaces are still the more popular of the two. They tend to have a lower operating cost than electric models, and as long as they're properly maintained, gas furnaces are perfectly safe to have and operate in your home.
AFUE Ratings for Gas Furnaces
One thing you'll notice when you're comparing various types of furnaces is that they all come with what's called an AFUE rating. This number reflects the energy efficiency of that particular model, so it's important to take into account when you're making your selection.
The furnaces on the market today typically have an AFUE rating of 80% or higher. Some can even get up above 90%, and while more efficient is generally better, there are other things you should take into account as well. For instance, a furnace with an AFUE rating of 90+% will be more expensive to purchase than one with an 80% AFUE rating.
At Apple Heating & Cooling we can help you choose the furnace that best fits your needs.
Forced Air Heating
Forced air heating is very popular in the Northeastern Ohio area. These systems can be installed as part of a central heating and cooling system and will provide heated air to the various parts of your home through a series of ducts. An air handler manages the flow of air through the ducts to make sure that all areas of your home receive an equal amount of heating.
Forced air heating systems can run on either gas or electricity and they are also generally more energy efficient than either gas or electric furnaces. They're a great option particularly for those living in area with mild winters, but they can have trouble keeping up with the heating load in harsher climates.
No matter what type of heating system you're leaning towards, Apple has what you need. So give us a call today. We'll walk you through the selection process and have your new heating system installed in no time

We have the strongest guarantee in the area. We include with every system installation our written 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. We are so sure we will make you 100% satisfied; we will refund your money in full if we are not able to do so.
