Apple University is a training program for Service Technicians and Installers that we provide every year. Classes are held in our training center one evening per week for a period of 12 or 13 weeks. Subject matter is structured in part around the knowledge needed to pass the NATE (www.natex.org) certification test. Apple Heating is an official NATE testing organization and we host a proctored NATE testing day after completing the classes. Classes begin in February and end in May. This is the time of year when business is slower, and we can avoid students missing class because of work demands.
For 2004 we had the following classes:
Electricity 101 Air Distribution Gas Heating Air Conditioning I Air Conditioning II Hydronic Heating Carbon Monoxide and Combustion Brazing Gas Furnace operation and troubleshooting Electric Motors and Meters Oil Heating
Students took 12 certification tests in May 2004.
Our trainers included Stan Zwaduk, Apple Heating Service Manager; Dave Pinelli, Scott Robinson, Chuck Stehura, Russ Westcott, Bob Van Goor from R. L. Deppmann, Ken Shrovb of United Automatic (Trane Distributor), and Myron Havis of the Copper Development Institute.
